Abolish the DHS and repeal the PATRIOT act. These are now the moderate positions.

Got the game we're working on actually running in multiplayer today. Immediately lost to my wife. Feeling humbled.

(No need to worry, though. I'm sure that's temporary.)

I don't think it'd be first party. But it'd probably be in colab with. They already said they're open to working with 3rd parties on both Steam Machines and Frames. Phone that can run Android apps or Steam games using same Proton/FEX layer as Frame seems like an obvious next step.

IMO, the fact that Android still managed to become a dominant operating system is just a testament to how greedy and controlling Apple are with iOS, and absolutely not a credit to Android.

I genuinely hope that with release of FEX, we're about to break the trend. SteamOS-based phone is last hope.

But Google didn't want to make the best phone. They wanted to own the ecosystem the way Apple does with iPhone, so they needed something way more proprietary and didn't want to take time to develop it. Hence they acquired Android. It's really an example of how not to do it.

IMO, the biggest mistake was going Java. Google should have just leaned heavy into a Linux on ARM with a sleek, mobile-friendly UI framework thrown over it. Casual user wouldn't know the difference, early Android phones wouldn't have such a slow start, and there would be good branches for enthusiast

You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).

I would have preferred significantly less, "Founded by the Nazis," but given the current economic and political environment, I suppose fat chance for that with anything larger than an indy project, so maybe that really is the best comparison to make at the moment.

The, "Wait, why did the music change?" right before you find out why the music changed.

Easy fix either way, though. So I wouldn't count it against the place.

This photo is in a seemingly contradictory state of having too much gamer lighting while also not having nearly enough gamer lighting.

I will never forget my old lead designer at Turbine, Chris Clay, who had a rule:

Never spend more time talking about a design in a meeting than it would take to prototype it and see.

I was in plenty of meetings where he suddenly slapped the table and invoked Clay's Law
I had an hour long meeting today about doing a thing, a thing I would have been doing if I didn’t have an hour long meeting.

You're going all sorts of extra with that aerodynamic shell over a narrowing command module body.

Making a game? I'll show you something interesting. The two types of game developer are Jigsaw and Slartibartfast. All game developers fall into these two categories. Kojima? Jigsaw. Todd Howard? Slartibartfast. Despite making open world games, Hidetaka Miyazaki is Jigsaw.
increasingly realizing that i've learned gamedev skillsets not because i particularly like game design as a field so much as because of the basic impulse to put ppl in some kind of fucked up labyrinth

Look, I know that's a better explanation, but it's still fun to picture Obi Wan trying to keep it low profile as a hermit, but accidentally starting a fashion trend, and now the entire planet is cosplaying as the Jedi, with Obi Wan counting his blessings that the Empire is too incompetent to notice.

Hm. If we use one of the Disney park attraction queues to keep it organized, and arrange travel times around that, there's just barely enough time to get everyone in in 3 years. But we already have to be running this around the clock, so better start moving on this.

I don't think I like math anymore. Numbers are fake, and subtraction was invented by sadists.

Yeah, I didn't want to jinx it since someone was already looking at it, but if the fridge is still turning on and keeping things cool, but failing to get the freezer cold enough, it's very likely to be a problem with refrigerant or compressor. 😿

The step at the back of the boat body is also crucial for plane's ability to peel itself away from water, and it gives flying boats a very characteristic profile that's hard to mistake for anything else.
