This is very US-centric, but this article hits home so many times with me. I struggle to fathom what's next for me but I can't keep puddling around doing cut-rate design/photo gigs hoping that a meaningful, permanent role will materialise. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Fascinating article with some great rationale. But the elephant in the room - and the fact the article glibly sidesteps - continues to be that all species of Moa (and the Haast eagle) went extinct BEFORE European colonisation.

Fun, simple and symbolic. But in the fervour against Musk, has nobody clocked the unfortunate parallel symbolism of a fossil-fuel-powered military machine crushing an electric car?? A car that not so many years ago was celebrated as a symbol of climate-change-conscious innovation?

There's nothing quite as dispiriting as presenting a concept and video script to a bunch of people who just look at their laptops the whole time. I'm so, so, over this industry. Somehow, some way, change is coming. Watch this space.

Some call me perfectionist, but far worse are newlyweds (i.e. wedding photography) and musicians (i.e. music videos). With stings more than the muso's poor-artist-zero-budget, is how they take all your energy and generosity... but then never even use or publish the video. What are your 'red lines'?

While a team of Greenpeace activists have locked themselves inside the Agrifeeds storage shed to stop a shipload of palm kernal unloading, two orangutans have climbed onto the roof and deployed a 70m banner.

A while ago I helped @greenpeace.org.nz with a little graphic design 'brand jamming' of NZ Anchor Butter packaging. Exciting to discover it being deployed this morning with such drama and, er, grit...
In Taranaki today, port workers have shut the palm kernel storage shed doors and stopped work. No PKE is being uploaded while our team is in place, and they have no intention to leave any time soon.
