🌱Today’s flower/plant is Linaria
aka Toadflax.This particular variety is the very aptly named “Fairy Bouquets” and it is both a perfect name and description for them. Linaria come in an assortment of colours and are favourites of bees and butterflies. One of my absolute favourites, highly recommend❤️
Photo depicts several clumps of the very aptly named “Fairy Bouquets” variety of Linaria aka Toadflax, with thin, mid-green, almost spindly stems and even thinner spike shaped leaves, bearing flowers resembling tiny Snapdragon flowers, in multiple colours and combinations. The clumps of flowers shown here are coloured mauve with yellow and white, hot pink with golden yellow and mid-pink with yellow. They are prolific seed producers and will reseed themselves if the soil is not too wet for too long. These are one of my absolute favourites, truly magical. They are beloved by butterflies and bees, especially (at least in our gardens here) Mason Bees.

Two pink roses in full bloom from June 2025 in my garden. Fully double cup-shaped, medium sized, mid pink that fades to pale pink as they mature. The one in front - closer to the camera has a few more petals in the middle still unopened while the one at the back is fully opened revealing a yellow stamen. Green leaves in background and blurred grass. A petal of another rose to the left also caught in camera. I love this shade of pink! I bought and planted myself but I can't remember its name. 🤔 Medium frangrance.

Max. body length 20 cm (8"), max. total length 60cm (2').

Threatened by pollution, human consumption, chytridiomycosis and introduced trout.

Considered Endangered by the IUCN.
