having the kind of work day where everyone is passing off the thinking parts of their job to me.

i don’t want any part of anyone else’s job unless it comes with their paycheck too.

How are people on the phone all day at work? Like with family or friends? I have worked with people in offices and have noticed it with delivery drivers a bunch.

I’m not even asking how the work gets done, I want to know what they have to talk about?!

It’s really unfair to be in a terrible work environment while the whole world is also terrible.

Where am I supposed to get the energy to find a new job when literally everything is draining?

These three things are true:

1. You should go to the rally.
2. You should practice good opsec just in case—even if you're a bunch of retirees milling about in a parking lot, it's good to practice.
3. You should talk to your neighbors and turn the energy into action that will carry past tomorrow.

1. Kavanaugh is an idiot if he thinks that’s true.

2. Even if it were, we’ve seen how they’re treating people in the process of these “stops” and none of that should be happening. To anyone.

3. EXISTING IN THIS COUNTRY WITHOUT BEING A CITIZEN IS NOT A CRIME.
Justice Brett Kavanaugh: “If the officers learn that the individual they stopped is a U.S. citizen...they promptly let the individual go."

The reality: Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents.

A must read from the very talented @nicolefoy.bsky.social:
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

why have so many people on dating apps given the app their ID?

bumble now shows people as “ID verified” as though that’s a good thing.

am i alone in seeing it as a bit of a red flag?

what i don’t get about the bad bunny thing is that americans could actually be leaning into it all and pointing out that he IS american and claim that is part of his success. they could be taking ownership of it all!

i have a lot of negative feelings associated with sacramento, but hearing about 15 civilians running in to help lift a helicopter off a woman after it crashed onto the highway is making me pretty damn proud to be part of this city!

hey @jonlovett.bsky.social, you’re clearly not active here, but i still don’t appreciate the callout of a le creuset purchase being our generation’s midlife crisis a week after i attended a factory to table sale. thanks.

but enjoy your dutch oven!

i’ve been called a negative person enough times in my life to actually wonder if people are seeing something i’m not, but some of the conversation i’ve been seeing about the special elections yesterday reminds me that i am much more hopeful than a lot of people.

Just so everybody understands, Booker has been speaking cogently about the issues the entire time and Strom Thurmond famously spent hours reading from the encyclopedia, because segregationists were and are dumbshits
If Sen. Cory Booker makes it to 7:19 p.m. EST, he will break segregationist Dixiecrat Strom Thurmond's record for his 24 hour 18 minute Senate floor speech against the Civil Rights Act of 1957.
