I helped open a government owned and operated rural grocery store open in Herrington, KS (pop. 1116) while attending Kansas State University in 2015-2016. I don’t think New York City running a grocery store is radical. Affordable groceries make a difference.

Kansas City has had free busses for over a decade. Most of local library systems do not have overdue fees. There are government owned and operated grocery stores all over rural Kansas. It’s actually crazy to me that people around here are concerned about the NYC mayor
