Came here from the other place. Retired. Amateur folk musician and actor, Saints supporter, unexpectedly old. Naturist, but I don't feel the need to post naked pics of myself (sighs of relief heard throughout Bluesky).

All the coverage of Reeves ‘lying’ debagged in a single sentence.
I’m quite enjoying the 180 turn on a six pence from “you’ve wrecked the economy and created a black hole” to “there was no black hole and this is even worse”.

Historian Rutger Bregman is a well-respected proponent of a universal basic income. The Guardian has called him “the Dutch wunderkind of new ideas.”

The BBC invited Bregman to give this year’s Reith Lecture series.

Before airing, the BBC removed one sentence from his lecture, “A Time of Monsters.”

I've been a Labour member since 1981, through Foot, Kinnock, Smith, Blair, Brown Miliband, Corbyn and all the interim leaders. I worked for all of them. I admit I don't do much now apart from pay my subs. But I'm going to struggle to do even that now.

I watched The Absence of War last night (and the introduction by David Hare). I well remember the crushing blow of Labour's defeat in the 1992 election. How different (in a good way) the UK would have been if Kinnock had won.

Why? London already has black cabs, Uber and private hire; not to mention a first class bus, tube and rail system. This is not progress. It is a solution to a problem that does not exist.
