Bill's premise that establishment Democrats want to hold any element of the ruling class accountable for anything it has done or ever will do is wrong. They are the solidarity-above-all faction of the ruling class.
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

Jeffries says not to expect Democrats to pursue Hegseth impeachment over boat strikes
"Republicans will never allow articles of impeachment to be brought to the floor," he said.

I have adopted the MAGA strategy of supporting everything my political opponents oppose. Accordingly, I now fully support the genocide of white Americans. Ideally by invading hordes of foreign killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies.
I assume she means everyone who isn’t white.

Meanwhile the Cook's County State's Attorney, Democrat Eileen O'Neill Burke, has not lifted a finger to protect the public from violent crimes being systematically perpetrated against it.
From the inbox: local activists have taken it upon themselves to print and distro this story to the community. Absolutely love to see it.

This is a critique of Trump's bumbling governance of empire. The NYT's owners/leadership fully support attacking the Venezuelan people. The NYT is critical of Trump only for making it harder on the paper to credibly sell his proffered rationale for committing aggression (which it considers its job).

Hegseth must be tried for murder. There's no statute of limitations, and he's only 45.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.
Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

I mean this is just always good advice.
Ahead of launching a war on Venezuela, the US would like to announce that no one in Venezuela should help US forces, it'd be stupid to do so, the US will denigrate you and screw you over no matter how much you help, and blame you if even one Venezuelan who also helped the US ever does something bad.

The Democratic Party-run St. Paul police department broke the law to assist federal immigration enforcement and violently repressed the media on behalf of the Trump admin.
From the MN Society for Professional Journalists: St. Paul police shot three photojournalists (MPR, Reuters, Sahan Journal) with "less lethal" munitions during an ICE operation yesterday. One had to go to the hospital. They say they were specifically targeted by St. Paul police.

The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

Carville doesn't understand that the Dem Party owes its 80+ million vote victory in 2020 to a movement that was literally built on "wokeness" (and to which Dems were made to bow down). Defund the police is not a social policy but an economic one. It is an offer of material assistance to the public.

This is felony assault and kidnapping. The Yamhill County District Attorney (Kate Lynch) who is empowered to prosecute violent offenses against the public was appointed by Oregon's Democratic Governor.

Will any elected Democratic official protect the public from violence? Don't hold your breath.

When Trump organized an insurrection against the US govt, he did not understand he was committing a felony—and a priori rejects that he can commit a crime. This is just him trying to paint Dems as equivalent. He has the mind of a child, is unfit to be president, and must be removed from office.
"Hey, look America, I just pulled 'Many legal scholars' out of my butt."

The Democratic Party's betrayal of working people began with a Kennedy and so RFK, Jr. being fawningly servile to Trump is very much on-brand. People should understand: this is who the Kennedys have always been.
“One day [trump] sat on the plane with me. We were talking about Syria, and he drew a map of the Mideast for me. And it was a perfect map,” Kennedy told me. “Then he drew in the troop strength of each country, and also the troop strength on various borders.”
NEW: When RFK Jr. first told Trump that Tylenol might cause autism, the president wanted to tweet out a warning. Kennedy told him not to do that. There was nuance, and the drug companies would push back. “I don’t give a shit about that,” Trump responded. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

A reminder that credit ratings for monetarily sovereign nations like the UK have no meaning and are dumb. Such governments do not and cannot borrow the currency they issue ex nihilo. They can only pretend to borrow it.

If this is accurate, it's another criminal offense being committed that local elected Democrats have so far refused to prosecute, preferring to leave residents completely unprotected from violence. Mecklenburg County, NC (where Charlotte is) has a Democratic DA—Spencer Merriweather.
Dipshit is smashing out a car window with his gun, barrel first. Just rogue, cowboy stiff.

There were two US citizens in the car. They were apprehended and detained for “obstructing” ICE by honking their horn to let people know ICE was in the neighborhood.

I have an idea. Tax their money out of existence.
We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

The case against is that Democratic voters don't reform the party through primaries. Until that happens, MAGA will prevail or be competitive with or without Trump.
It is possible that from here on out, it's all downhill for Trump. *Possible.* Don't get your hopes up, but here's the case for that view: www.thebulwark.com/p/spoiler-we...

This describes what we already know as journalism. Actual journalism has yet to be invented.
"That rot appears in journalists in different forms: debasing themselves at the feet of power because it’s rewarded; allowing themselves to be debased by the powerful to maintain status and access; and identifying more with their powerful subjects than regular people"
Moral rot in elite journalism is killing the whole field
The Nuzzi/RFK Jr. mess and the revelation of Epstein’s journo pals lay bare a profound moral absence at the heart of our free press.

20 MAGA Democrats that voters must oust to restore party credibility. Dem voters need to understand that votes like this undermine the party's credibility with the urban base it needs to win elections (compare 2020 to 2024 election results).
These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.

Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.

They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.

We don't talk enough about how Reagan put hardcore fascists on the federal bench, usually with the cooperation of the Democratic Party. This is 79-year-old 5th Cir. Judge Jerry Smith, confirmed by unanimous consent of the Senate in 1987.
