Paul Offit, a pediatrician and vaccine skeptic considers Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a vaccine cynic. “I fear what will happen in America, which is already seeing a rising mistrust of vaccines, if he becomes health secretary,” Offit writes.
Opinion | RFK Jr. Is a Vaccine Cynic, Not Skeptic.
My job is to ask tough questions of vaccine makers. That’s not what he is doing.

Wow. Imagine the shock for the Daily Mail when it finds out Tory plans were for fines of £5k - later reduced to £3k - for each missed heat pump sale. What Ed Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. As @torstenbell.bsky.social says today Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”

One million pallets

Don't get me started 😡😡
More than a million pallets of unusable Covid PPE, costing £8.6 billion, have so far gone up in smoke

Billions of pounds were spent on completely unusable protective equipment, with a series of priority contracts handed to associates of Conservative ministers

It's disturbing seeing some medical and public health professionals trying to normalize RFK by saying "we have to meet him halfway."

NOPE.

RFK is a charlatan who has deliberately spread disinformation that has killed people.

Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.

Feels like I'm just posting to the void since I'm just getting started here, but why not. I write a weekly newsletter, and this week I write about how far away from reading and critical thinking we’ve come. It's lacking in our education, COVID learning loss, social media attention spans, all of it.
We need to get back to reading and critical thinking
Because 2024 feels different from 2016.
