"Obergefell is settled law" is to the 2028 election what "Roe is settled law" was to the 2016 election. Roe and Obergefell are supported by a majority of voters. Republicans will try hard to convince independents that Obergefell is safe, nothing to see here...just as they did with Roe in 2016 & 20.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Senator Jon Ossoff, who is vulnerable in his re-election bid next year, just voted no on ending the filibuster to reopen the government.

The Georgia PSC race has two big takeaways for me:
- Democrats have the ability to win when we concentrate on pocketbook economic issues
- The GOP incumbents gave a masterclass in how to lose a winnable race by doing nothing

Decision Desk has called both of Georgia's statewide races, for public service commissioner, for Democrats.

If confirmed, this would be a really huge win for Democrats:

It'd be their first statewide win in any non-federal race since 2006!

Dropped off my absentee ballot for the PSC race earlier this morning. Don't forget to vote today!

One thing that I will miss about Texas Tech is listening to the marching band while eating my lunch outside. A nice change from the usual din of traffic you get at UGA.

Went to get some groceries yesterday and there was early voting inside the store. And, if you were disabled, you could pull up to a parking spot, someone would come out and let you vote from your car. Georgia needs to borrow some ideas from Texas apparently.
