Does anybody know what rail cars would have been moving through Catawissa, PA around Thanksgiving last year? I assume they are heading down from Alstom. They look like an NYCTA NTT, but Alstom didn't have an R211 contract 🤔

The key factor that everyone seems to always forget is that Trump was the host of what was once the highest rated show on network TV - a purportedly non-fiction show that portrayed him as a hyper-savvy and hyper-successful businessman.
Trump has gotten huge numbers of infrequent voters to the polls, twice. He's deeply unpopular but has mobilized a large, unprecedented coalition of Americans motivated by some combination of ignorance, avarice, and cruelty. It is hard to describe what he has as something other than charisma

Amtrak YouTubers have been negligent in not reporting how bad the new bathrooms are. The doors are slow AF and they have a weak dryer vs paper towels. Just because the door might be a slight improvement for 5 annual ADA riders, doesn't mean the bathroom are "an improvement".

The overhead bin space problems are matter of design, not European loading gauge. There's 4-6 inches of dead space above the passengers. This should have been used to expand carry on capacity.
Idk if tall passengers were complaining or it's window placement, but the racks are too high up.

If you want my seat hot take, Amtrak set the new seats to the median level of recline. It's going to be an issue for some, but probably not enough to force a change. People needing less recline should bring a lumbar pad.
