Thomas K. Dye almost ceased to exist early one morning in Kent, WA, as his car skidded on black ice, over the median and into oncoming traffic. It was only through sheer luck that the cars swerved to avoid him and he was able to get BACK over the median.
“Your problems are not location-dependent”— no, I don’t think that’s true, I have never slipped on ice trying to get out of my car in Palm Beach

Also, not naming any causes for this, but I had a dream where we were moving out of our apartment (typical) and I had to move boxes of Transformers toys I had no idea why I even had (not typical).

When you're in the parking lot in your car listening to John Payne-era Asia at 4:55 in the morning because it feels too damn early to go inside the office.

One of my big regrets was printing the first Newshounds book on glossy paper. It feels so massively wrong.
The current big drama in the increasingly stupid western comic book world: DC released cult classic title Warlord on a (more expensive) paperstock that matches original newsprint, giving a more accurate coloring. Collectors are review bombing in outrage because they think glossy = more expensive.

The responses I got to this were staggering and supportive. I'm overwhelmed. Thank you all so much.

I've got two that are nearly done and a third that has an ADORABLE image I can't wait to draw. After that, I'll take a break -- either work on the book some more or do other things.

Thanks again. :)

Ha ha! Never mind! Turns out there wasn't any room for it! Problems just solve themselves, don't they?
Okay, I've come to a compromise with my "do I draw a spiral staircase or not?" dilemma. The answer is yes, but in the background, so that it's implied that the character in question descended it ten seconds ago.

Started a job and put up with endless criticism to become relatively indispensible

Still doing this comic

That's it

Reading & writing has kept me alive this year.

Somehow, it’s been my most productive year as an author.

Here’s a guide to what I’ve published in 2025, in case you’ve lost track.

Well, I guess it's just as well I was only ever aware of her as a punchline for 60s sitcoms.

I did some work today, but the one-two punch of having to look up a reference online and eating dinner put a stop to my productivity. Something about the digestive process makes me want to do silly Hanna-Barbera character art, I guess.

But I'm okay with it. I have all day tomorrow to do more.
This was originally just "I need to get to doing comics" and ended up a lot heavier. It was a topic I was going to post about on New Year's Eve anyway.

I'm slowly putting my brain in order to handle this life change, but Puff the Frickin' Magic Dragon is not enjoying deprioritization.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and I'm trying, even when the story gets heavy (weight has nothing to do with it)

I reposted another post from him, but I'll do it again. Really great guy whose spouse inspired the happy-go-lucky spirit of Bijou. If anyone has a few spare coins to toss in his direction, it'd be appreciated.
I hate but have to admit, until my benefits kick in, or I land a new job... I kind of need help
I'm on a diet, I could stand to lose another 70-80lbs and basically coffee and popcorn fuel me, but I have Cecil and four kids to think about. We -HAVE- about two weeks of "oh god, Pasta? AGAIN?" so they're NOT going to be hungry, no matter what. Just... even $1 means a lot right now.

I don't want to just "here's my donation links" But if anyone wants to help, one of the local grocer here their instacart is the same price as in store. rdewalt is my email at gmail dot com or, as much as people hate on them, walmart is honestly where I buy groceries when $ is tight.

The BEST present I got this year was this gorgeous, fully rendered Necronomicon my wonderful husband made for me!!!

And if I may be petty and bitter for a moment (oh, hey, I have a card) it is irritating and angering that people will STILL throw money at a piece of excrement like JKR when I feel my work is just as good and possibly even better. There. I said it.

Namaste, todo el mundo.

You know what, folks, let's make this 1000 followers. This is one of the best comics I've seen in ages, and this artist needs way more love. I also recommend the first book, "Tough As Nails."

So Tim and I have been shamed for never having seen "The Prisoner" (with Patrick McGoohan) so we watched the first episode tonight. Spoiler: The first Number Two left the Village to get married, start a bee farm, and then take in a nervous wreck pop singer as a guest after her doctor recommended it.

While the presentation made for hilarious MST3K fodder, GEEPERZ CRIMINY DID THIS SHORT HAVE GREAT ADVICE. I'm not even kidding when I say how deeply I internalized this.

I weakened and did some looking at our budget and nearly had a panic attack -- until I discovered I, metaphorically, "didn't carry the two."

If there's anything I need massive hypnotherapy for on a deep, deep level, it's handling finances.

Sometimes I feel like I won't be satisfied until I build ten Disneylands and all I see when I look at what I've accomplished is a ticket booth, an entrance gate, and the building where you can rent strollers
