everybody should read this thread on lynching, the idea and the motivating force and the intended effect
alright, i'm asking in seriousness. do folks know what lynching is? do folks know the *legal* issues with lynching? it's actually more complicated than you think, and i'm not a legal scholar so i don't want to step out of my lane--BUT I'VE READ BOOKS.

Things are moving quickly, but it looks like these Sen's especially need calls from *constituents* to vote NO on cloture:

Angus King (ME)
Amy Klobuchar (MN)
Jacky Rosen (NV)
Brian Schatz (HI)
Maggie Hassan (NH)
Jeanne Shaheen (NH)
Gary Peters (MI)

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121.
This is NEW today. AOC sent this 11 am. Friday morning.

Yes, your calls are still needed. The vote is in the early afternoon. There is still time!
KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN.

☎️: (202) 224-3121

Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid.

The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING.

Call retiring Senators too!

CALLS ARE WORKING - it has bought us precious time, but we NEED to keep the pressure up.

Tomorrow is the cloture vote.

KEEP CALLING: (202) 224-3121 ☎️☎️☎️

Tell your Dem Senator to vote NO on Cloture and NO on the Republican spending bill.

Do NOT assume your Senator will be good on this. Trust me.
🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

THIS IS HOW YOU STAND UP: How about if all places of worship, schools and other public spaces put up signs by their entrances with this simple statement of the law? (This one’s from a Minnesota church).
Suggesting it to my temple today. Will report back.

And this is why you should fight this kidnapping tooth and nail regardless of whether you agree with Mahmoud.
NEW: White House says the arrest and deportation of student activist & legal US resident, Mahmoud Khalil, is a blueprint for more.

The final line here is chilling. The White House specifically says Khalil was not breaking the law.

No evidence, no due process, no crime. He was just disappeared.

The sooner that middle-class Americans - especially white church-going ones - realize that they are the target of Trump's hatred, the greater the possibility of restoring democracy.

U.S. Attorneys are not the President’s lawyers. They are the United States’ lawyers. You didn’t pledge an oath to a President, you pledged it to the constitution. This statement alone is reason enough to resign.
