Here we go again. The implication here is that the way AI generates its output is with human-like cognition. Which is untrue. "Cognitive capabilities humans have" is not the same is "outputs comparable to those of humans."

So many comments about paper mills, tortured retractions, and insane publisher profits in all my feeds. The Beall's list blacklisting "predators" is so 2000s. The COPE list is not diagnostic. Academia needs to curate itself and stop relying on indices from for-profit publishers. What's out there?
