I checked out the first 10 minutes of the first episode and, yeah, it's bad.
But why it's bad is that I'm not retaining anything that's happening. Everything is so flat or distracting I can't form any emotional connection to the story or characters. It's a disservice to the source material.

The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them
A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

almost every novelist you read who's not from the airport fiction or bestseller sections is working a full on day job, including multi-award winners and absolute legends, or they have a spouse or trust that supports them. virtually across the board. just normalize in your mind that's how it works.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

US Americans--has your (cow) milk been going bad prematurely? this is like the third half-empty half gallon in a row I've had to dump out because it went sour after only being opened one week and kept at the back of the fridge where it's coldest. well before exp date.
I'm baffled and annoyed.

While we're all talking about dubs today, some of y'all could stand to be more vocal whenever there are issues brought up about about accessibility or labor regarding dubs because it feels like a lot of folks only ever get loud about dubs when it involves some translation choice you don't like

After publishing this article, I've heard from many that CR seems to be using AI to produce dub CCs. Now, thanks to a slip-up CR had with episode 6 dub of The Banished Court Magician, we can say that with 100% certainty: Crunchyroll is using the AI service Ollang.com for its dub closed captions!

As I keep saying about folks trying to defend supporting JK Rowling through Harry Potter: "Fucking Skill Issue."
So many of us in the anime and manga fandom dropped Rurouni Kenshin like it was hot garbage when it came out that the creator was a pedophile, and that was 100% formative for many of us.
