Gonna be racing the Brompton in that London in the summer. Promises to be a bonkers weekend, if far from a victorious one given I've never raced a bike before, let alone one as absurd as the Brompton 😂

The MEN always fails to join the dots:

"He said people still heavily rely on their cars in the borough - where heavy traffic congestion is still a problem."

More cars = more congestion. More bikes = fewer cars = less congestion. Not rocket surgery.

Active travel schemes are 'squeezing out motorists in favour of cyclists'
A fierce debate erupted over active travel schemes in the borough

This country is awash with money. The very rich are rich beyond imagination. So when Starmer wants to stay within his arbitrary fiscal rules, who does he decide to take money from? The very rich? No, from people with disabilities who depend on benefits for the bare minimum of a decent life.

“Illegal protest”
“Illegal votes”
“Illegal posts”

Re. her comments after the Ed Miliband interview, could @peterwalker99.bsky.social have a word with @pippacrerar.bsky.social about what makes cycling safe (not helmets!) and that ebikes definitely are not cheating! (That's cars!)

If you’re drawn to a politician because they promise to be cruel to Muslims or Jews or immigrants or gays or transgender people etc, the least you should do - the absolute, bare bones, still morally vacuous least - is ask yourself whether they’re likely to stop at the group you want to see targeted.

Strength, solidarity and down with the patriarchy on this International Women's Day (always seems odd to me to wish a "happy" one of given what it represents).

While I often find myself personally inconvenienced by them, I am generally pro e-scooter. Isn't it amazing that so many people have voluntarily chosen small electric vehicles for everyday travel? I saw a builder heading to site with his toolbox balanced on one yesterday. It's replaced a whole van!

Would you just look at that 😍 Wonderful wand-protected cycle lane on the A56 with bus stop bypasses. Almost 5 years on from when the cones went in, well worth the wait.

Four weeks this morning, GM will have achieved its long-held ambition of integrated public transport by uniting bus and tram in a single payment system.

People will be able to make journeys using a combination of both and never pay more than the daily cap. Rail added from 2026.

Mirroring my invitation of a cycle ride made the day the revelations broke as aired on Radio 5 Live, to which I'm still awaiting a response. Perhaps WRGM will be luckier?
Walk Ride GM has today invited Andrew Gwynne MP to join a cycle ride in his constituency, Gorton and Denton.

He would experience first-hand the benefits of travelling by cycling and also appreciate why improved provision is urgently needed.

Like his pal Putin, Trump's favoured governing style is mafioso thuggery. What's on the table for Ukraine is a protection racket. The logical result of wittingly putting a convicted felon in power.

History buffs will know that every authoritarian leader eventually converges on some version of: "I *am* the state. I can not break the law, I am the law, the law is instantiated in me."

Our march to authoritarianism so far has been excruciatingly by-the-book. Hitting every beat. No surprises.
