I've set up my home office in a different room and Bear the cat, usually a standoffish, companion, has seen fit to join me.

Are you doing 80s themed merchandise @herring1967.bsky.social ? Seen in a Clacton charity shop.

I have never known my ‘credit score’, have no idea why so many ads suggest I should find out and, tbh, have little idea of what a credit score is and less of why it might matter.

Is there some deeper meaning behind the Comic Relief trailer, or is it just really creepy?

It’s always the same. We have somehow reached the last week of February even though it only started five minutes ago after January lasted since at least the Major government.

Watching #QuestionTime for the first time in years. My main impression is that the Glasgow winter makes white people almost translucent (writing as a white man who spent his first 12 years in Glasgow).

I’m watching Human Traffic for the first time in years (it’s on iPlayer) and wondering once more why Shaun Parkes didn’t go on to be a much bigger name. He’s brilliant in this film.

I'm sitting in a pub reading this in a book, a book I only picked up on the way from a free library because I realised I had left the house with nothing to read.

Public service announcement: if you like Mogwai and haven’t got our new album yet please pick it up today or tomorrow to save us the indignity of slipping behind Ed Sheeran in the charts. Ta x

I’m saddened to learn of the death of Geoff Nicholson earlier this month. His books have been favourites of mine since the 1990s, and when I had to cull my library for a recent house move there was no question that my Nicholson books, pictured here, would be among them.

Has anything useful ever come out of feedback from group discussions at a team away day?

Hmm? Oh, no reason ...

To the best of my knowledge no one famous ever attended or even visited my school. I was there at the same time as Russ Abbott’s kids when he was a huge name but he was never seen at the school.
Emergency Questions

133. Who is the most impressive celebrity that ever came to your school?

For reasons that are lost to the ages, that I couldn't figure out at the time and can't in retrospect, Ian St. John. He just sort of laughed at his own jokes in assembly then vanished.
