Share (human-made) art. Cook for your companions. Wear a mask. Reject liberal fatalism and hyperindividualism. Deny genocide and eugenics any ground. Nurture care-driven connections amidst the wreckage. There are other ways of living in this world.
Went to pick up some records and there was a mixup. So I reckon there's probs a metalhead out there that got a boygenius EP instead of the Ltd Color Edition LP of this 80s Trash Metal band they expected.

Joy is not a distraction from the art. It’s part of it.
Chloe Zhao posted this and now I'm imagining Baz Lurhmann's "Hamnet."

My mental health until March 27 is being held together by the fact that the new Snail Mail album drops the same day as the Courtney Barnett album. hanging by a thread but it’s a very indie thread. Lil LJ is back, let’s go.

<-This user is (very predictably) very hyped for the new CB album & revisiting the classics.

The city takes pity on your injured soul
And heavenly prose ain't enough good to fill that hole
Everyone's soaked in animosity
It's vicious in winter, you never say what you mean.🎶

Every Monday is like 5 people saying:

“Here’s a new problem I caused by not listening to you or forgot to mention until the last minute. You're so nice & competent: fix it for free, rn, please. I’m also still not helping w/ last week’s problem, won’t give inputs, or take responsibility. Thks, bye.”

New Ratboys single has been this week’s companion track, for obvious reasons. February’s release slate is shaping up nicely.

Live in the world, so madly.

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

Well, duh.

You follow in colonies to sip it from the bank
In rapturous sweet temptation, you wade in past the edge and sink in
Insatiable for a nectar, drinking 'til your heart expires” 😚🎶

Oh, to work between Xmas and NYE : no meetings, finally getting things done that have been on the To Do for weeks, uninterrupted soundtrack flowing through the headphones and the peaceful sipping of coffee.

Now, I’ve never read The Hunger Games, only seen the movies, I get it.

However Georges Perec’s ‘W or The Memory of Childhood’ is one of my favorite books and that’s also a little bit on the nose.

If the last 15 years of the tightening chokeholds on society and culture from the tech sector and the American conservative animus have taught us anything, it’s that it’s healthy to be extremely skeptical of anyone calling the humanities “low utility” or similar

Smthing that's been grating on me *big time* lately:

"I listened to these 10 albums so you don’t have to" is less a hook than ever and is starting to feel very literal, almost reading as an instruction: "Consume someone else’s pre-chewed takeaway, not the work. Your time is better spent elsewhere."
