Indie animation and game development is here to stay because it MUST be. Otherwise soon enough there won’t exist a sector of the industry willing to tell or support the stories already starting to be snuffed out.

I just feel like martyr mentality and praising sacrifice of the body for the art can get into really unsafe territory and maybe we shouldn't do it so much. I care about my fellow actors and don't want them hurting themselves. Anyway, rant over.

Please no unsolicited advice. It's insulting that people really think I haven't tried everything to get care. All your advice is things I've either tried already or things that would only work for a white person in most cases or would endanger me. Please learn about medical racism.

I basically don't feel like spending 12-17+ hours in a crowded hospital and then being gaslit and told that I don't have breathing issues. And that I'm wasting their time. When it's been confirmed by my ENT specialist and sleep doctor that I do have severe breathing issues.

Technically I should be going to the hospital. But they rely too much on pulse oximeters (who have a history of not working properly on darker skin). They don't believe me when I say I'm struggling to breathe. I should be getting oxygen treatment. But I know I won't get any care.

I have been suffering a lot because it's been getting harder and harder to breathe. And get enough oxygen. It feels like I'm suffocating at times. I know that my surgery to fix my breathing issues is in 2 months. But it doesn't make it any less painful, exhausting & frustrating.
