This pup found a stick shaped like an old timey pipe earlier today and has already solved three mysteries. 13/10
a brown wire-haired pup stands on a wooden deck in a grassy yard. he looks at us with golden eyes and his right ear flipped inside out. he has a pipe-shaped stick in his mouth, giving him the appearance of a sophisticated and dapper gentleman. just give him a deerstalker cap and a cloak, and he'd give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money.

Trixie: 'I was created for a single purpose' (Fun tidbit, for those who read these alt texts, she WASN'T, it's just until now that's what she believed ;) ) 'There was only one thing that mattered, and I let him down.' He turns her off, and she reboots some time later with a new view out into the world. Merrik: Okay, don't be mad. You've been turned off for about two months. Before you say anything, just let me show you. He holds her new hand in front of her face, and the camera flips, so now we can see her, in her new body. looking at her own hand. On this page, Trixie starts moving her hand, new eyes wide with wonder. Merrik: So, do you like it? Trixie: I.... I love me! Oh Merrik, thank you. She leans over and hugs him. Trixie: I'm sorry! I'm just so happy! (Side note: she apologises here because she knows he won't like being hugged so much.) Merrik: That's ok. So, now you have a body, what do you want to do? Trixie: Well, first I think I'll need to go and buy some clothes. Adding another extra note just for those who read or listen to the alt texts: It was really important to me that the first thing she do with her body be an act of love like this, and having her express joy wonder excitement and love in her first moments in a real body made me so happy. A few people reached out to me after I shared this comic the first time with some personal stories which meant a lot to me. While it wasn't intended as any kind of allegory for transitioning, knowing people had found comfort or inspiration in it was so moving. Even though the drawings are wonky, this comic keeps a special place in my heart.

After my previous backlog about Merrik and Entervoid, here's maybe my favourite comic I ever made for the site. More info at the end of the thread. If you know Merrik/Trixie from 'Blinker' this might be... weird. Sorry! 🙏 Just letting you all know: CW body horror, gore, death and such.
Title page showing some damaged and old postcards lazily taped to a dirty wall. the title ' REAL' and the author is 'Pocketm0use' (my Username on the site this was posted on) There are some special thanks as well: Mortooncian and Golden and Flatting assistants, and Magistelle and Saburu91 as script reviewers. ngl to you folks, trying to put these pages into words is cutting me up, because the art is so old now and the story is personal... but I'll do my best. The establishing shot is a cold metal room. there are windows overhead show that it's night time outside. two larger humans carry a shrimpy teenage Merrik in ill-fitting clothes, head bowed who is reflecting: 'the last thing I heard her say filled me with dread.' Across the room from them is a strangely (but fancifully) dressed, tall woman, with a screen-like mask over her eyes. (looks kinda like a modern VR headset but wasn't intentional since I made this so long ago.) Trixie's speech bubble reads '>Merrik, I'm scared.' The subsequent panels are hard for me, so here is a brief summary: Merrik is dragged away, trying his best to fight back as he protests. The fancily dressed woman removes Trixie's 'core' from around his neck. Merrik's inner monologue / reflections are: You know how it feels. Like your insides have dropped out the bottom of your feet. Your mouth dries out, your mind becomes a whirlpool, revolving around and around -- until you get crushed by the pressure at the centre of it all. Merrik finally replies to Trixie: 'Don't be scared! It'll be fine, you'll be--' The mean woman interrupts him, and tells the other soldiers to 'take him to reconditioning' As he's dragged away, he screams 'No! you can't just reset her, she's thinking! She's feeling!' Now we see Merrik alone in a 'reconditioning' chamber. He starts off by hammering on the door, before curling up and crying. He's thoughts continue: 'They'd always wanted me to believe my input weas valued by the group. As long as I performed their tasks, I would be a 'hero' no questions asked. An inspiration.' Now we go back in time to where he's first been kidnapped by the Hivers. He's dirty and his hair is long and ragged. He stands in chains, with a group of other teenagers, who are clearly from different alien species. two larger soldiers loom over them, and another masked woman is injecting something into his arm. He recalls: 'When you first arrive at the Hive, you're implanted with Vitartix Nanobots. These are used to aid the individuals performance and keep them alive. This page shows Merrik's gradual assimilation into the Hivers community. Ending with him in a brown hooded uniform, gas mask and googles coving facial features. His recollections read: 'You slowly become part of the larger picture. Everyone around you gives you meaning, and you return the favour. Each day you're assigned a different core, gun, task and partner.' In the backgrounds there is a scoreboard there the teenage soldiers are ranked against each other, We can see M. Sanderson is in the number 2 slot. In the final panel Merrik turns angrily to his partner for the day and says 'Don't be a leech. Keep up.'
