The #panamaplaylist thing is a little creepy, but... not nearly as creepy as the depth of psychosis you'd have to be in to listen to that Long Way Home song by Gareth Emery 60 times in a row. 60! It sounds like the music an out of touch CEO unveils a tone deaf product to. It's atrociously corporate.

#Layoffs are going on everywhere. Leaders are rushing in to layoffs to cut costs and hand things over to #AI where they can. But it doesn't always work out how they'd like. Leaders need to plot a course to the future carefully. So I created a thought exercise in the form of a tool to help analyze

The story of 2025. The year we sold ourselves short. The amount of layoffs by years end will be staggering at this rate. Retail leaders are going to want to start strategizing now how to cope, cause Christmas is probably not going to be the get out of jail card this year.
The economic situation is expected to deteriorate further due to the impact of tariffs, ongoing layoffs, wars and more layoffs.

I have to be in LinkedIn as part of my job. But my god, the platform is just filled with volumes of absolute bullshit. Could do without it most days if I'm honest.

It's not an unpopular view, but when you talk to #hiring professionals, they often feel personality assessments provide some value. So what say you? We've got an anonymous survey for #HR and #recruiting professionals and a quiz to match you to a better assessment based on what you're hiring for.

“We need to be really intentional in how we use AI. Not using it to do more but using it to create space to think and problem solve. That’s where we’re going to find innovation.”

More of this from leaders please.

“To start a company, you have to be f*%#ing crazy.” -Howard Lerman CEO and Founder of Roam. Not saying he’s wrong but… Why do founders always sound like this? 😂 I can’t wait for AI to mimic this kind of persona.

At Running Remote this week in Austin. At a time when there’s a lot of politicization of #remotework, it’s important that innovators in remote work come together and help create more consistent and cohesive remote work experiences. I’ve seen a lot bot-like activity about in person being the only way

Indicative of where leadership is at right now. Biz headlines be like:

CEOs Float 60 Hour Work Weeks
Two headlines in the New York Times today.

If only there was some process they could have gone through that would have determined he wasn't a good fit for the role. 🙄

Have to admit though, they nailed it in terms of "culture fit" for this administration.

This looks similar to a graphic we made recently as part of an article about focusing during chaotic times. You have essentially 3 circles you can invest your energy: your Circle of control, circle of influence and circle of concern. We all need to master this.
Unhappy? Stop worrying! Focus on things ‘in your control’ and let go of things ‘outside of your control’. That’s hard enough.

People will say it's Florida... but the truth is FL is often a mirror for the rest of the country. Others will follow. Yes this is who we are. Billionaires are allowed to exist, but those 16 year olds DO NOT NEED guaranteed meal breaks. 14? Graveyard shift! The hell with school.
Is this who we are? Never mind, don’t answer that. 🇺🇸😳

Some stats worth considering here:

1) 92% of people who click apply on a job ad never finish the application process.

2) 60% of people say they drop off if a job application process is too long

3) 50% of applicants fail to meet all of the qualifications for any given job.

It'll be great for wine and champagne businesses... unless of course they sell wine or champagne made in the places most famous for wine making and the only place that champagne comes from. Does anyone have some plastic I can put directly into my brain or do I just have to keep drinking the water?
The full “tweet” is something else.

1) What are the most ridiculous requirements you've seen on a job posting? #recruiting #hiring #jobads

2) What are red flag job requirements in your opinion?

3) What have you seen that you think an employer should NEVER include in a job ad?

Idk. Think it's honest about how business views people and isn't nearly as grotesque as "human capital". We are humans, we ARE resources for orgs to do things. HR is the group charged with managing those resources. If a team is short on people, they will often say "we need more resources." 🤷‍♂️
When you stop and think about it, has there ever been a more dehumanizing term in corporate-speak than “human resources.”

It all depends on how you're defining "low performers". If it's someone whose habitually dragging projects down by missing deadlines, creating inefficiencies, difficult to manage, doesn't take feedback, sure. If it's just someone who didn't force their way into having more influence. No.

Read this last week. Sad state of affairs.

1) Never kill yourself for something you don't own. 60 hours a week is a recipe for burnout.
2) Measuring productivity by hours worked is as dumb as measuring it by butts in seats.
3) 60 hours a week shouldn't be standard in ANY industry, nor glorified.
