Taking PhDing to new levels of avoidance, procrastination and delay, but, maybe this time, there is an end in sight. BlueSkying history, Musical Goddess Kate Ceberano and clouds. I do love clouds. Even though they are in The Outside. Which I don't like.

I signed back in this morning to share news I was reading. I’ve just contributed to all the depressing stuff flowing here.

I’m signing out again. But I’m going to leave these #Photographs of a fluffy white #Cloud over the #NationalLibraryOfAustralia & the Library’s fountains.
#TimelineCleanse
I’ll live vicariously through others when it comes to the bowling. 🥴

Chances are pretty high that I’ll be quoting this in my thesis about plague, pox, pestilences and poverty in 16th century Paris, which our last five years have been alarmingly similar to and not in a good way.

I think #COVID hasn’t been normalized because on some level people know they’ve been bullshitted about it, know it’s more dangerous than is let on, and are secretly terrified. That’s why people go “deer in headlights” when you break the taboo and actually say the word.
If Covid was truly societally normalised now - 'just another respiratory virus', to use the common phrase - people wouldn't avoid using the word 'Covid'. The fact the word 'Covid' is taboo in many circles speaks volumes about just how much the disease has *not* been normalised.

This is what they have done forever and will continue to do until we destroy ourselves.

Sorry, it’s 5 am and this is just triggered the historian in me. Plague, pox, pestilences and poverty is the theme of my thesis about 16th-century Paris. Plus ça change and all that. 😳☹️🤬

The looks on people‘s faces when I say my rheumatoid arthritis is my forever present from #COVID / #LongCOVID. Immediate shutdown of their brain you can see it in their face, in their eyes.

Last year I was talking to my nephew and then he said I have to go because I’m going bowling and I realised that I’d never be able to bowl again now I’ve got bloody rheumatoid arthritis. I bloody loved bowling. Hope you get to bowl again! 🎳

I have the photocopy and I scanned it and it saved in five different places that are logical but factoring in the slight disarray that my little grey cells are in. Just increases my chance of finding it when I’m in contrary or special mood. 🥴🤭

Labour MPs launch major rebellion to stop welfare bill, which cuts disability benefits

Last night at the PLP meeting Liz Kendall asked MPs to back her. 108 have indicated opposition

Fuel the rebellion. Tell your MP to vote against the cruel cut.

About 20 years ago, I had to do a security vetting thing and I had to remember all of that. Fortunately, my brain functioned then. I filled in that form. I then copied it for myself and whenever that gets asked of me now, I go to that form. 🥴

RFK Jr has fired all 17 members of CDC’s Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices. The US now has no CDC director and no ACIP.

He alleges this is to reshape U.S. regulation of vaccines, food and medicine. More likely it's anti-vax measures.

I think there’s many millions who obviously think exactly the same thing. All those worthy winners who did decent wonderful things of being overshadowed by that absolutely horrible man.

I think Morrison has proven that the Federation is dead. And he pretty much killed it. Back to the states looking after themselves and working together to do things together. Scrap the Federation and start again. Western Australia Australia had it right 126 years ago.
June 9, 2025 at 3:44 AM
I’m not kidding. I think they have demonstrated quite conclusively over the last five years in particular that they think they are better than all the other states and territories and that they are the actual leaders of the country. And that became even more apparent during the Morrison chaos.

In 2023 when my #JohnFarnhamUterus was going insane with all its farewells, I was purchasing 30 to 40 packets of pads every shop, plus, of course, chocolate. And I knew the ones packed by a woman, ‘cos there was always one or two items of chocolate that I didn’t order. And I did like them. 🤭

Scott Morrison is almost certainly one of the “Robodebt Six” referred to the NACC for criminal and civil action.
In Australia we don’t pursue him: we rig the NACC, refuse to investigate…then award him with honours.

Any honours for #ScottyFromRobodebt would not only be tone deaf and farcical.

It would be a massive insult to the thousands of welfare recipients and their families who were terrorized by Morrison's illegal scheme - some to suicide. #auspol
