ironically this is where I see gAI used the most bc I understand wanting visual noise to make alive the environment, but this is the area that deserves gAI the least bc it's that exact visual noise that informs the details of the worldbuilding and where people hunt for Easter Eggs enthusiastically
One of the most underrated design skills in games is graphic design for things like decals and fake branding for posters/stickers/flyers/books/props/signs/displays.
We take this stuff for granted and yet they are very much a world building detail that adds so much more life to environments.

Finished Heated Rivalry and it was so good. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy that I work on books like this all day from other countries, and now the rest of the world gets to see a Canadian take.

Copyeditors are fact-checkers but the author can still just ignore it. I am curious if folks like this are paying their copyeditors or their CEs might not be checking sources. (Most of my copyediting jobs have these checks in the job description.)
Seems like a good time to note that many nonfiction publishers do not fact check, or do so only very superficially, and authors who want their work fact checked need to pay for it. This is bad in general but especially when editors are acquiring ‘eye-opening books’ that are just reactionary lies.
