I think the worst part of this is that, sadly, Trump’s administration isn’t likely to do a damn thing to help the people of Venezuela. He didn’t do this to overthrow a regime and help stabilize the region. He did it so his rich cronies can get richer.

As an aside, the fact that I’ve been entertaining this line of questioning from international folks for all of these years shows you that this has been a REALLY long road to hell and the reason I’m not surprised by most of what’s happening.
People are often genuinely curious about how we got here and I’m happy to engage in that conversation (white people refusing to vote majority dem, mostly ie. racism and a dollop of capitalism thrown in)
