Generative AI is completely incapable of coming up with good ideas. Therefore, the best way to use an LLM for ideas is to write a list of ideas you came up with yourself, and separately ask the AI for a list of its ideas. Eliminate from your list the ones it also came up with.

For me, hacking NES ROMs to change CHR data, palettes, and text strings at a single-digit age, lead to Stagecast creator as a preteen, lead to Game Maker as a teenager and adult. Little of my old crap survives but that's honestly probably for the greater good.

Half-life helped but the map editor for Starcraft really was it for me.
I kept making maps where you controlled one lone marine in a zerg infested laboratory.
