I'd actually love to see some kind of reimagining that remakes the game mostly faithfully, but adds stuff that was cut, like cutscenes, party members, and shops.

Oh I know all too well! Haven't released much, but I have a few gamedev projects going at any given time, and I write my own music. Sometimes inspiration for fitting tune, chords, mood, etc. comes instantly. Other times I'm bashing my head against a wall for weeks before I have something workable.

Video game music is often good for no reason. I think it has to do with music theory being more directly applicable to the situation, meanwhile the artists struggle to make pixels or polygons look good when they're used to painting, and the programmers struggle with the quirks the platform/engine.

Is it bad that I actually like HGS's art style? Not the obvious technical errors, but something about the character designs and bright colors has a lot of natural charm imo.
