It was my mother who introduced me to Star Trek, she was the sci-fi fan in our home.
I read her sci-fi books, watched movies and shows with her.
This article has to be rage bait, I cannot imagine sb being so detached from ... women? Reality in general?

I was in my mid-30s when I got my first paid gamedev gig. And I know writers who started in their 40s or even later.
You're NOT too old to start [this new thing]. You just have less energy to overcome doubt.

So a family member died unexpectedly & left behind this sweet girl, who’s now on a 5day hold at a shelter in Eugene OR. I need to get her to Portland Maine to adopt her.
Some offered to chain a ride. Can we get her coast to coast?

There are! Actual living science fiction writers! Who have lived through the last few decades! and have a stake in the immediate future! You can invite to them speak!! I promise, many of them are at least as insightful as a white man who has more name recognition but has been dead for 60 years!!!!
At UNESCO World Press Freedom Event in Brussels & the presenter just did a spiel about how influential sci-fi is on technology, name-checked ONLY white male sci-fi writers, & then brought up "AI" bot of Aldous Huxley ???? to ask "questions" and get buzzwordy meaningless literal "maybe both" answers
