I appreciate David Fisher's reporting on this - but the sub ed needs to be told there's no question mark needed in this headline.

Fisher gives us multiple clear cut eg's of how sexism & patriarchal culture actually works 🧵

The EHRC Guidance is a wicked exercise in removing rights from trans people - and is bad too for employers and service providers, those outside gender norms, people with disabilities and the economy.

We've created a tool to make it easy to respond. Please use and share. goodlaw.social/9e59e9
How to respond to the EHRC consultation
Good Law Project has taken advice from a leading public law King’s Counsel on how to respond to the EHRC’s consultation. What follows is a form which, after you complete it, will automatically be sent...

Fuck mate I didn't think I could BE more proud of being a Te Pāti Māori member
Appreciate the pātai. Te Pāti Māori won’t let Aotearoa import UK/US-style hate.

We reject attacks on trans, non-binary and takatāpui whānau. That’s not who we are.

Our Te Tiriti commitment means protecting mana, inclusion, and whānau safety.

Whakapapa over wedges. Manaakitanga over fear. Always.

Here is my best guidance for action, rendered beautifully by the great John Lithgow. I first published these lessons more than eight years ago, in late 2016. They open the twenty chapters of "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century."

My new piece looks at newly-published data from the Cass review and how it contradicts the document in many ways.

The review continues to be remarkably problematic and scientifically flawed.

Today's the day - you've got 5pm to email pbconsultation@health.govt.nz with your whakaaro. Lots of resources available in this thread - doesn't have to be a masterpiece, but you do have to do it!
I've just published my own submission to Manatū Hauora's consultation on the right of transgender children in Aotearoa to access the healthcare they need - consultation they have opened on request from Minister Reti, with no good justification.

It's long, but may be useful for your own submission.

After extensive review, France has established very positive gender affirming care guidelines, and they’ve rejected the highly politicized Cass Report as simply false.

Please make a submission about puberty blockers in NZ. Those who want to remove trans healthcare specifically and trans people in general are flooding the system.

PATHA's VP Dr Rona Carroll in the Conversation this morning with a clear explainer of what puberty blockers are, why the quality of the evidence is low, and why access to care is vital. There must not be further restriction to this care - to do so would be on purely political grounds.
NZ is consulting the public on regulations for puberty blockers – this should be a medical decision not a political one
Puberty blockers don’t necessarily result in a measurable effect at the time they are taken. The main impact is seen when people are older and may need to seek surgery and hormone treatments.

Was the hīkoi New Zealand’s largest-ever protest?
Media estimates of the crowd size ranged from 17,000 to 100,000+, but one thing we can say for sure – it was bloody massive.

Go and fill this in now. Say you don't think there should be more regulation. Say it should be available to the vanishingly small number of people who need it.
