Sexism

all of this is also true for sexism. you tell me you think women are biologically less smart and i’ll suspect that i could probably convince you to drink your own piss

FOX Sports really should be getting a lot more blowback for trying to normalize Dave Portnoy.

Built his empire on sexism, racism, and the mass harassment of women.

His sexism is pretty openly expressed in his famous book, which all molecular biologists of my generation had read as teenagers. Unfortunately that sexism was quietly shared by many male scientists of his generation, so he got a pass for it, at least in those days.

turning a big dial taht says "Sexism" on it and constantly looking back at the audience for approval like a contestant on the price is right

Just once could a mainstream voter analysis mention sexism? Ever? It seems relevant

Finkelstein is one of those guys who thought wokeness had gone too far when it came for his own sexism, so now he pals around with fascists under the thinnest possible veneer of “anti-Israel” critique
Norman Finkelstein, the fuck is wrong with you?

This is the second time he's gone on Candace Owens' show, and look how she frames the interview in her tweet.

Yeah, but his racism and sexism were the antithesis of science. He rejected science in favor of his biases.

What they use to use in your great grandmother's age to cure "hysteria" (aka sexism)

A vibrating saddle

Watson's racism & sexism were infamous. but this obituary sheds light onto something else: he was essentially an earlier rendition of what's happening now with tech CEOs & pundits who are convinced they're always the smartest person in the room & how this inevitably leads to anti-"PC/woke" brain rot
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

James Watson, dead at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers

It’s wild how mediocre people always turn to racism and sexism and all the other isms

"They said back to normal, and they meant back to normal. All of it. Capitalism, racism, sexism, environmental destruction, and disease."
Living with Long COVID often feels like living in a horror movie. Along with your disease comes a creepy Hive Mind refusal to acknowledge the dangers of COVID infection. In Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV show Pluribus, the Hive Mind comes to life:

"Pluribus" captures the isolation of COVID-awareness in a COVID denialist world
For years I've described having Long COVID as living in a horror movie. Now that horror movie (well, prestige Apple TV show) is here.

me: no, really, latent misogyny & sexism is still a really big problem! even in elite spaces!

them: wanna post a lil misogyny & sexism in the paper of record?

but seriously - there are still big problems with professional men feeling entitled to harass, demean, & (negatively) stereotype women!

I'm giving it maybe 6 months before it is shut down due to a expose that reveals massive racism/sexism and support for political violence among members

It’s always sexism, racism and lgtbphobia “jokes” and then they turn around to look at me laughing while they say “haha, Agui’s pissed off again” :)
November 8, 2025 at 10:18 AM
Sexism and racism hand-in-hand yet AGAIN.
November 7, 2025 at 8:52 PM
I don’t understand the spite of it either!

Feminism used to be about women not defining ourselves by our biology & fighting against sexism based on biological reductionism. What happened?
November 9, 2025 at 7:12 PM
That's unfair. It's only part of who James Watson was.

He was also incredibly sexist. Proper old-fashioned male academic S-Rank level grubby sexism.

You know. Saying that Rosalind Franklin could have been pretty if she'd tried. Calling her 'Rosy' even though she never used that name. That level.
I love this website, where “this person died” is swiftly followed up by “shame he was a racist motherfucker”

Anyway the stories of sexism in American journalism I could tell you people.
November 6, 2025 at 1:36 PM
Sexism is one hell of a drug.
November 10, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Also, stop weaponizing misogyny. Calling out your racism ain't sexism.
November 9, 2025 at 6:55 PM
unadulterated sexism because larry slopcock got to stay unredacted on slide six.
November 6, 2025 at 4:05 AM
ah, you may have fallen into the trap of thinking that republicans might care more about internal/logical consistency than they do about adherence to hierarchies that are characterized by dominance & submission (e.g. systemic white supremacy, sexism, classism, etc).
November 10, 2025 at 4:44 PM
let's ask a group of people who have never worked in a male-dominated job how they feel about casual sexism.
November 6, 2025 at 1:35 PM
Not much complicated about sexism, racism and arrogance.
