Brilliant post from @chrisgrey.bsky.social

"it’s about anger as a permanent political condition [...] much of it stems from an impossible desire to reclaim an imaginary past or, more profoundly, not from a desire for grievances to be redressed but to luxuriate in the feeling of aggrievement."
Count to one hundred. New post on my Brexit & Brexitism Blog reflecting on a frenetic fortnight of domestic and international news, the state of the reset, the significance of the latest calls for 'proper Brexit', and the anger suffusing our politics: chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com/2026/02/coun...

From act to news report to public outrage to folklore - all in a month. If a week is a long time in politics, a month is an era in social fabric.

It was me - totally sorry about that, I was supposed to be WFH but we had a bit of a spill on the patio, and I was using the pressure washer to clean it up. Pretty sure it wasn't for a week, but I might have left the tap on. My bad.
People working from home are partly to blame for water outages that culminated in residents in Tunbridge Wells being without water for more than a week, the boss of South East Water has claimed ⬇️

I love @kemibadenochmp.bsky.social - she makes the fantastic observation that Trump's kidnapping of Maduro raises "serious questions about the rules-based order" I suppose one question might be "where exactly is it?"

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Utterly bizarre to describe as “pioneering” the decision of anyone (farmer or not) to let a mother and child stay together, rather than force them apart after 24 hours and steal the mother’s milk.

Channel 4’s The Jury could have been an awesome series: replay a case verbatim but anonymously in front of a jury and let’s get a feel for the justice system.
Nope - just make a reality tv show that allows people to share stories, display prejudices and exaggerate for the sake of clicks. Pure crap.
