It's 31 October. Most people will be thinking about Halloween. Historians, of course, will be thinking about Martin Luther, who nailed his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg on this day in 1517. 1/4

I'm going to complain about something that makes me feel like an old lady:
The quality of socks today is poor. I still have socks I wore in secondary school (2 decades ago) but the pretty ones with birds on I got from M&S a year ago now have holes in and are going thin. This is upsetting.

It's the second time already this term I've reverted to stew and dumplings. I'm not complaining, but it is a lot earlier than normal for me to give up on summer and go full on autumnal hedgehog.

According to experts on fascism one of the best defences that a country has against fascism is a strong trade union movement. Trade unions unite all workers and fight for better for all of us. Join a union ✊

Today I remembered overly ambitious day off syndrome.
Plan
restock food cupboard
soak and cook dry beans
make up turkey meatballs
Two loads of washing
sorting out some banking stuff
change my bed

Shockingly only 3 of those things got done, and 1 I am still doing.

'Twas the night before training
And all through the house
Not a teacher was stirring
Not even the Scouse

The adults were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of KCSiE danced in their heads.

It was a good day today.
1. Results were pretty good.
2. Two of the books I've had on reserve came through just as I was finishing one, so I have a choice of what next!
3. I made chocolate sauce to have on my yogurt as a treat.

(I did also smash a serum pipette and get glass in my foot but shh)

Just had the classic pre-results day distraction of cleaning and reorganising the kitchen cupboards.
Really hoping things go well for my students.
