The President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, PPFP, has been a jewel in the crown for faculty development and recruitment at the University of California for years and the results have been an expanded faculty with almost 100% tenure rates — unprecedented success.

Zara Weinberg was a brilliant light both in and out of science. She changed the lives of everyone she interacted and loved for the better. Her legacy will live on through all of us and we will fight for a better world on behalf of her memory.

Excuse my language but what fucking business is it of the united states government whether Brown undertakes this kind of medical care for parents and their kids who fully consent to it and desire it? Insanity! Pure discrimination in an agreement trollingly cloaked in preventing discrimination.

Pls not the 2016 "ur valid" approach!! Instead tell them one way or another we WILL make sure they get the access they need.
That we show them that we are trans adults and we almost invariably didn't have gender affirming care before puberty and we are loved and beautiful and happy. The story of trans joy and trans beloved community NEEDS to be louder than the story of trans suicidality today.

🧪 The final work from my PhD is finally out today! We found that synapses at the larval fruit fly neuromusculsr junction (NMJ) were individually highly diverse in their synaptic release properties. However... (1/5)
Balanced synapse-to-synapse short-term plasticity ensures constant transmitter release
Basal synaptic strength can vary greatly between synapses. Aghi et al. find a similar large variability in short-term plasticity between synapses of a Drosophila single motor neuron. Strikingly, the c...

It's still really unbelievable how the IDF just bombed Al Ahli hospital, the last standing hospital in Gaza, with its patients and doctors and there is not one post about it to be found on this website.

Well divas... I want to say it's over but my delusion says it's not quite over yet.
I have learned that the directors of ALL: PREP, IMSD, and IRACDA programs across the country have received similar cancelation notices. This follows previous cancellations of MARC and URISE programs. This further dismantles the mechanisms that enable scientific training opportunities for SO MANY.
You want to know the best way to show thanks for chairing a study section? Early the next morning sent them a termination notice for their PREP training grant.
