Purveyor of fine whiteboard drawings and cut-price noise. He/him.
Tonight: EVIL TOONS, a 1992 picture that was sold to me as "Who Framed Roger Rabbit? possessed by The Evil Dead". The opening minute or so, in which David Carradine seems to receive Sunday-school counselling from the Necronomicon, is certainly a beginning.

After almost three decades, Canada has lost its measles elimination status.

That means in 2025, this extremely contagious disease spread consistently in our country for the first time since 1998.

This was preventable, which makes it embarrassing -- in more ways than you might realize:

Some other "anything" songs that feel right today:
- Avi C. Engel, "Anything Might Happen" (fennycompton.bandcamp.com/track/anythi..., fantastic but not on YouTube)
- Scraping Foetus Off The Wheel, "Anything (Viva!)" (www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jTg..., also suits the times)

The notion that the BBC has a duty to reflect the views of racists, homophobes, Islamophobes, transphobes, etc just because there are a lot of them in the UK is absolutely ludicrous.

The BBC has a duty to *educate*. Bigotry is the polar opposite of that.
SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

"I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

I'm begging journalists to look into this. I know first hand how many schools/religious institutions/restaurants/sport clubs etc. had fundraisers over the past 2 years for Gaza and handed big checks to multiple organizations. Millions and millions of dollars meant for the people of Gaza...
People gave a record amount of money to multiple organizations for the people of Gaza and all this money just sat there for the past 2 years because Israel blocked it. I hope this money gets distributed quickly now so that the people of Gaza don't have to beg anymore

I was curious, so I quickly looked up Tesla's revenue figures for the last few years. 2022: $81.5 billion, 2023: $96.8 billion, 2024: $97.7 billion.

That's some serious optimism about robot sales if they think they can throw a hundred billion (mostly in stock?) at the dipshit each year.

Good news about Tahoe 26.1: you can now type a second search prompt in the address bar without Safari losing its goddamned mind.

Less-good news: album-view playlists in Music are even more screwed up than they were in 26.0.

There's a real whiff of "be our voice or be our target" to this US election news and I hope the right people here in Canada are appropriately jolted out of any recent dickish leanings by what they're seeing.

Abandoning our climate initiatives because of the US *is* putting the US ahead of our sovereignty and economy.
Mad?

Good. Now channel it where it needs to be... the belligerent country south of us is largely responsible for today's budget.

I'm all for climate initiatives, but NOT ahead of our sovereignty or economy being crushed by a bunch of churls.
