Abstract B051: Discovery of SW-3431, a first-in-class molecular glue activator with potent and selective anti-tumor activity in PPP2R1A mutant cancers
AbstractUterine cancer is the only cancer type for which survival has fallen in the past four decades. This past year, uterine cancer deaths surpassed ovarian cancer for the first time: making uterine...

New publication from our group! We show that loss of carboxymethylation of protein phosphatase PP2A is a cellular response to MAPK pathway inhibition in NSCLC that leads to treatment resistance. Further- this resistance can be overcome with modulation of PP2A through small molecules...

“With these considerations, we expect to fund through the 4th percentile.”

There it is, in black and white, the destruction of cancer research in the US.
Funding policy for 2025 from NCI. Was just released: 4 percentile…maybe!

I'm honored to have been awarded the Shields Family Research Grant for High-Grade Uterine Cancer from the Foundation for Women’s Cancer. This generous support will enable us to develop new models that more closely mimic the human disease, with the ultimate goal of benefiting patients. rb.gy/3qbh1k

“We’re fucked.” Good write-up in Nature on how the current administration has used the Federal Register as a workaround to block NIH spending without seeming to violate the injunction against the spending freeze. If it’s not rectified by September, billions of $$ for science research will be lost.

Our new paper describing how mutations to the PP2A gene PPP2R1A drive high-grade uterine cancers is out now in this issue of Cancer Research by @theaacr.bsky.social

Mutant PP2A Induces IGFBP2 Secretion to Promote Development of High-Grade Uterine Cancer
Elevated IGFBP2 secretion by uterine cancer cells with heterozygous PPP2R1A mutations supports tumor progression and confers a vulnerability to IGFBP2/IGF1R inhibition as a therapeutic approach for th...
