The Call for Submissions for the next edition of our literary journal opens January 1, 2026.

The @aboutplacejournal.bsky.social editorial team for 'The Ground Beneath Us: Place, Power, and Resistance' issue invites work that explores place as a site of struggle and survival.

Call for Submissions ➡️ The Ground Beneath Us: Place, Power, and Resistance. | We seek works that engage with land, home, borders, environment, and community, not as static backdrops, but as living terrains that hold grief, memory, & the seeds of transformation. aboutplacejournal.org/submissions/

Aaaaand that's a wrap on our submissions portals for 2025. We are simultaneously putting together petrichor 29 (including Pebbles vol. 6) and petrichor 30, our 10th Anniversary issue. Expect cool things in '26. Here's a picture of that boat that was stuck on the sand in Milwaukee, 2/12/25.

As it snows in Milwaukee, we're open till November's end for Pebbles vol. 6. Poems of 1-5 lines (from monoku to tanka) and/or visuals (haiga, etc.) are all welcome till Sunday night. Pebbles 6 will be published as part of petrichor 29 in January.

(poems about snow are welcome but not required)
