I’ve been thinking and I’ve decided I’d like a short but heady romantic affair that’s all done by, say, Thursday this coming week. Failing that one of those double Wispa bars. Or a very big apple.

Doing Valentine's day properly today. We've been for burgers for lunch and now we're in the pub together. Kids are managing themselves.

Yassss
This is a powerful story for me. Several branches of the Women's Institute are closing across the UK in protest at the new trans-exclusionary ban against trans women. It cuts through the lie by the media and GC groups about speaking on behalf of women. Solidarity.

• Semlans nya konkurrent

The most ironic thing about The Gilmore Girls is that they would absolutely hate the theme tune to their own show.

Also, newbie to teaching telling me how to do my job - just don't.
My new colleague's lesson notes give me a headache. Instead of a short heading (2-3 words) she writes all the notes on work done in the heading (hard to read in blue with underline). Then she rambles on & on about the student's attitude & abilities in the notes section. I don't have time for this 😩

🥳 🎉
Palestine Action have WON their judicial review in the High Court!
A massive victory for free speech, freedom of association and the right to protest.
A massive defeat for the draconian attempts by Keir Starmer's government to curtail our fundamental rights.

Our local hamlet is flooded. The River Vienne burst its banks. We are now an island and the only way in and out is by tractor. Our neighbour is providing a taxi service to our cars which we all managed to get to higher ground before it hit the fan.
This our friend going to work. #floods

Nederlands ‘meest Europese schrijver’ Cees Nooteboom overleden
Cees Nooteboom (1933-2026): De romanschrijver, die onder meer de Europese literatuurprijs en de P.C. Hooftprijs won, was al geruime tijd ziek. Hij werd net als Mulisch als literair kanon beschouwd.

Epstein’s emails don’t just scream sex trafficking — they whisper geopolitics. Moscow contacts, Putin references, kompromat vibes everywhere. Maybe coincidence. Or maybe that’s how power launders leverage. Either way, sunlight is long overdue.
