I just want to write code.
If MS could put some of the folks who made the VS ‘26 UI so responsive on the team for SSMS - that would be GRREAAAT #dotnetconf

FYI - SSMS ‘22 preview is sooo slooow

The more I look at React apps, the more I think that JS/front-end devs have been busy making work for themselves for years. A UI component library should not have 1k+ lines of JS for a dropdown.

software has spent the last 20 years getting worse by people "utilizing best practices" spewing their garbage idiot code into the world and somehow motherfuckers think the statistical bullshit machine trained on a world of terrible software will magically improve software development are you high

I like a lot about different programming languages. Ruby can execute actual poetry. JS is incredibly powerful, Java has some damned cool features. But at the end of the day, most of them do not have the level of quality tooling that I think developers need. .NET tooling is second to none.

Got the family registered to see @scalzi.com at the Jacksonville Main Library next month! One of my kids is going to be thrilled to get a book signed. He’s loved KPS, Starter Villain, and Redshirts.

Ok, she was fantastic on Discovery. She’s fantastic in The Residence. Starfleet Academy has some excellent talent on deck.

Windows really needs a “block this Bluetooth device” feature so that my laptop will NEVER AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT TO MY LIVING ROOM SPEAKERS WHILE ON A TEAMS CALL.

Weird world we live in. I just told my 5yo to give himself insulin. If he overdosed, he could die. And yet I trust him. He has good tools with guardrails. Still, this feels like payback for being a latchkey kid.

Germany’s Chancellor Merz presented Trump the birth certificate of his German grandfather, Friedrich Trump.

It was a clever jab to remind Trump he’s a German immigrant.

I’ve been jumping through hoops today to get something working, and I think I finally got it. Integration tests with #DotNet #Aspire that run locally and in Jenkins (docker in docker). Had to work out why dcp said “file not found” in an Alpine image, and run my app via the Dockerfile.

TEVA would like to think that the best time to advertise to you is RIGHT AFTER YOU BUY SHOES. How many feet you think I got? I already bought two pair. Go the fuck away.

Am I to understand that people like the way Costco constantly moves things around? It makes my skin crawl.

I realize they carry one-time or limited time stuff, but the entire bread section doesn’t need to move around the store.
