Who cut the $1000 Kickstarter? National
Who reduced the minimum contribution to 3%? National
Who reduced the member tax credit from $1040 to $521? National
Who then reduced the same member tax credit from $521 to $260.72? National.

Don't believe National on Kiwisaver.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

M Gessen in NY Times is an essential read, in my view.

Today's column on United Nations special rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, denials of genocide, and the sanctions she faces personally, as a result of highlighting it, is sobering.
And Trump's US v ICC.

So we remain vigilant & deeply grateful to our allies.

For Signal, Chat Control is an existential threat. If we were *forced* to choose between building surveillance into our services or keeping our integrity, we would choose integrity & leave the market. We hope it never comes to this. 7/

But we must keep fighting. 💪 All Things Secured interviewed Hanna on the current status of Chat Control, whether it's coming back, and why you should care - even if you're not in the EU.

Went to Teddy Swinns performing at Spark Arena tonight. What a very gracious and hard working artist he is. Big voice, big sound. Well worth going to see him if you get the chance.

He’s having a career for the ages. He has two adorable kids, a brilliant and beautiful wife, plenty of money, and still has his hair. There’s just one problem.

I finished Lauren Southern’s book ‘This Is Not Real Life’ last night & you know what?
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it, seriously.
It’s a fascinating insider’s account of the origins of online influence. Her own shallow part in it.
I was impressed with her candour, analysis & self criticism. A very good read.

I just watched the Stuff Circuit Fire and Fury documentary again. Very dark.
I was struck by how careful Paula Penfold's language was. Likewise, Kate Hannah, Khylee Quince & other experts' contributions were… tight.
But how incendiary, hateful & violent the agitprop groups (not just VFF) were.

Packing for another trip, and, gee, my wife's Sony noise cancelling headphone are much more compact than mine.

Admittedly, that's a third-party hard case I have for the Airpods Max, and yeah (very unlike Apple), there's some wasted space – but even so.

Re the political 'right' seeking to disenfranchise citizens & residents less likely to vote for them -- viz. Paul Goldsmith's sleazy 'Election Amendment Bill', and Luxon's ill-advised/clumsy attempt to influence the Electoral Commission -- I am reminded of how frothy Matthew Hooton got back in 2017…

Good message from Scott @profgalloway.com here. All my dogs have been either re-homed (no dramas, just we were a better option) or SPCA specials.
Loss? Oh yes, I grieve them. Hard.
But I long ago realised that every dog we've had has given us far, far more than it has taken.
With pet shelters overwhelmed, @profgalloway.com makes his case for adopting a rescue dog.

You know, “The Prime Minister was reflecting New Zealanders’ views on the core role of the Electoral Commission” is not very far from the Trumpian "A lot of people are saying…"

As in "A lot of people are saying, 'maybe we'd like a dictator' "

A heroic reach for non-existent sentiment.
