What did you do over the holidays?

@videogamesarebad.co.uk made this video and a mod to add Steam friend list leaderboards to I Am Your Beast! 🐺

Really making "ate a lot of cheese" look less productive...
NEW VIDEO - should i am your beast have a leaderboard?

May 2026 be better, safer, and fairer. May all that was good in 2025 be better in 2026. May all that was bad in 2025 be things we put our efforts towards improving.

Here's my thread of 2025 games made with Black leadership you should check out.

I'm not an advocate of supporting things just because X group made them - I share genuinely unique games that have something special about them that I think are worth checking out.

I just focus on #blackgamedev

In 2024 I outlined the hardships indie game devs are having and how Black indies are an astronomically small percentage of the greater pie. This funding squeeze is not helping alleviate that.

I also shared 2024 games worth supporting. Thread is linked.

Funding for indie games is becoming more like a Battle Royale, with dev teams/games that can’t get to the middle of an arbitrary ring getting merced left & right.
It sucks.
It extra sucks as a #Blackgamedev since the last few years have seen some forward progress, now halted.

2025 has sure been a year. I (in my role with @bvigaming.bsky.social) partnered with @official-aias.bsky.social (who partnered with Amazon) to get devs to DICE. I partnered with @officialgdc.bsky.social & thanks to generous donations was able to get some dope devs to GDC.

The struggle is real.

Aaron Foster and Jemma Hughes had to see this game through to the end, even though it took 13 years to get it into players hands.

I'm starting to write more reviews of smaller titles on Steam.

1. Reviews are very helpful for developers and players alike.

2. It's a nice way to cap off a fun time with a game.

So not only do I recommend Babushka's Glitch Dungeon, but I also recommend writing reviews of indie games you enjoyed!
