A flashback to my old blog where I reviewed the Jones Soda 2006 Holiday Pack, with turkey and gravy, sweet potato, dinner roll, pea, and antacid flavored sodas. I tested these with some friends after Thanksgiving dinner, we all threw up, and it ruined the entire holiday.

how does lord of the rings online have better black/curly/kinky hair styles than xiv. like squenix you cannot tell me its an engine limitation or whatever when lotro predates xiv by 6 whole years and has the janky mid-2000s graphics youd expect from that era.

i'm tapping the sign because a lot of people just seem to forget that "nsfw" doesn't just mean porn. it means "not safe for work." would i get sent to HR for having this on my computer monitor? yes? then it's not safe for work. for the love of everything that is holy, stop erasing the meaning.

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"
The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.

Nearly done with Dawntrail (final dungeon and presumably final trial, then it’s over). Queue times on Dynamis for post HW content are abysmal but I don’t feel like DC swapping so I’m just sitting here thinking about the expac.

The "Skill issue"/"Git gud" mindset is, I think, second only to Gamergate in terms of how utterly destructive it was to the gaming space (though the two are very intertwined anyways).
Like this isn't a bit. I think it's one of the primary catalysts to the gaming space's current toxicity. (🧵 )
