For the past three decades, kids in the UK got wild-type varicella unnecessarily. The costs of bad vaccine policy aren’t obvious but they are real.
The UK is now offering a combined MMRV vaccine on the NHS, adding chickenpox protection to the routine childhood schedule and rolling out catch-up doses for under-6s. This is expected to cut severe cases and save families time and money. Learn more:

1. Writing snippets of R code I could look up on Stack Overflow if I was less lazy, and
2. Generating text that never needed to exist in the first place (reports that will never be read, prior authorizations, etc)

Trump carried the current version of #VA05 56-43, but it could look a lot different if Democrats convince voters to approve a new map this spring.
We just had the fewest doctors decide to train in infectious diseases in years while political appointees gleefully ensure more patients will get infections. Good luck to us, I guess.
