Artist. Lots of abstracted plein air landscapes in oil paint. Lots of ink and pencil morning sketches. Just trying to be kind and wise.
I'm cold and my nose is running. Gathering future painting details like a squirrel gathers nuts. Morning sketches at Bullfrog Valley Park...

Drawing on a windowseat with Sunny snoring at my feet is such a nice way to spend the morning. Morning sketches...

Morning sketches... It's been awhile since I posted drawings. Got caught up in deep cleaning the attic last month and the basement this month.
I feel so accomplished and smug.

Morning sketches at Derry Presbyterian Church

Another on point sermon to help me navigate these troubling times. The phrase that stayed with me: "When you realize that the rabbit isn't real..."

Sketching by a creek to work out possibilities for an upcoming painting. The artist's life is a good one. Best part? Listening to the water whisper as it goes by me.

When it's time to Plant Seeds, 20 x 20", oil. I painted this earlier this season on location although I added the starlings in the studio.

I went out today but it ended up being a "let's not waste any more paint on this" sort of effort and scraped it off. It happens.

When All Roads Lead Home, 8 x 8", oil with cold wax on cradled wood panel.
I painted this on location at Englewood restaurant. Thankfully they didn't seem to mind. Took a few compositional liberties.

When You Come to the Edge, 12 x 12", oil with cold wax on cradled wood panel (with bear). The weather has been perfect this week for painting outside. I didn't really see a bear but I was in some pine woods.

Just a few days left for my exhibition with Louise Thomas at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center in Carlisle, PA. Who knew that an exhibition of black and white photographs and brightly colored abstracted oil paintings would work so well together?

Easily the most generous description of my work. Many thanks to CALC and fellow collaborator Louise Thomas.

If you are in the area I hope you have a chance to see the exhibition.
