This new recommendation is, by design, going to increase the number of hepatitis B infections among children of a certain demographic. The poorest children.
To be very clear: Kennedy's team is messing with a vaccine which has led to a 99 percent drop in the incidence of hepatitis B, which kills, early and painfully, 25 percent of the children who get it.

I got pertussis earlier this year. I was vaccinated in 2023 with a DTaP booster, but still got infected. I had symptoms for months, with some of the worst coughing spells I've ever had. It was horrible. It makes me sad to think a small baby had to go through that and didn't survive. Awful.
Maybe Hegseth and Trump could also send 500 National Guard members to Kentucky, to help administer pertussis vaccines.
