As of Monday, Dec. 22, there were 39 traffic deaths in Portland, a 32% drop compared with a year ago and a 39% decline compared with the same period in 2023.

PBOT crews, like Tanner who was working to remove logs from Johnson Creek at SE 82nd Avenue and Harney Street earlier today, have been out all day, working in the rain to prepare the city the best we can for the rain that continues to fall.

East Portland: A flood warning has been issued for areas around Johnson Creek near Powell Butte. The current forecast has the creek crest late this evening (~10pm) around 13.6 feet, which could mean flooding of commercial and residential areas next to Johnson Creek.
