I think politics generally has been debased by the dominance of tailoring everything to social media, which has reduced the ability of politicians to articulate and opportunity to share longer, more complex and nuanced arguments, which Carney did so brilliantly and concisely here.

So far, so good there. Impressed with Rohl. Hard to argue Armstrong wasn't interfering with play given where he was, but you do wonder whether it would have been given at the other end...

Good to see Fratton Park on the telly again. I had three happy years in Portsmouth in the mid-1980s and always enjoyed the matches there, especially the cup tie against Southampton!

Moyes had done a good job since he arrived, but he's had a shocking couple of weeks.

Fabulous performance from Moyes and the players there. A win with that team should be worth more than 3 points!

I'm finding Premier League so monotonous and the tedium goes far beyond watching Everton.

So many factors are eroding the essence of the game, from match-going fans paying to be inconvenienced to VAR and robotic football.

The Premier League: Dull as Dishwater
VAR, daft kick-off times and robotic football have made for monotonous matchdays
