'Singing the Blues' was released by Guy Mitchell in October 1956 🔵⚽️

The first opportunity Evertonians would get to sing it was October 27 after a 4-0 home win over Arsenal in front of 52,478. That day Liverpool lost 4-1 at Barnsley in Division Two.

Jordan Pickford pulled off two sumptuous passes today to play in Iliman Ndiaye and later Jack Grealish. Was really quick-thinking but so accurate too. Both arrowed in beautifully.

He couldn't hide how buzzing he was when they came off. Can tell he plays for the love of the game.

I interviewed former Beveren CEO Antoine Gobin about Thierno Barry when he signed and this quote rings true.

"He’s hardworking, dedicated and very generous with his efforts and emotions.

“He feeds off of being loved, and wants to give back that love.”

That was Michael Keane's 16th Premier League goal for Everton.

The defender is now level with Gary Speed and Nikica Jelavic in the Toffees scoring charts. One behind Andy Johnson and Victor Anichebe.

That was Idrissa Gana Gueye's ninth goal for Everton in the Premier League and sees the midfielder move ahead of Yobo, Bilyaletdinov, Niasse, Joe-Max Moore, Beckford and Michael Ball in the scoring charts 🔵⚽

Now level with Ebbrell, Tosun and Demarai Gray.

Crystal Palace’s unbeaten run came to an end on Sunday on the club’s first visit to Hill Dickinson Stadium as Everton won 2-1 🔵⚽️

Everton also ended Palace’s 18-game unbeaten run with a 2-1 home victory back in August 1969.

It was the Eagles’ first-ever league visit to Goodison Park too. Crazy.

With so much adrenaline and exhilaration coursing through each row, it created a blue tidal wave of euphoria.

As the noise crescendoed down and back up, it confirmed Everton had won before the full-time whistle had sounded.

It’s always a feeling in the air with Everton. You just know.

I think the best and most important thing this summer’s recruitment has done is vastly improve the Everton bench.

For years it lacked quality and even numbers.

Each game now, the manager has genuine options to react to setbacks or instigate change.

Foundations to build from.

I love everything about Jack Grealish.

His honesty, his humility. The authenticity. His desire and determination.

You can imagine him chatting with you on the terrace as a fan. His love of football and wish to do well for Everton is so genuine.

That anticipation as Ndiaye wedged the ball into the area, the reaction to Beto's header being blocked and the realisation the ball was landing to Grealish are the type of moments that made you fall in love with Everton and Goodison.

Bramley Moore's first big moment was special.

Charly Alcaraz was excellent and changed the game. Brought such a spark and energy to the side and got his foot on the ball to play. Not everything came off but the urgency and desire he showed was massive and integral to the win. Added so much impetus to the attack.
