I was 14, and sober. Unlike the trophy winning years. Nothing will beat the 1984 Cup Final for me, but Bob's day comes close.

I'll never forget that day. It felt like we'd won a trophy. Yes, that's how bad the 1970s were for Evertonians!

Neither insightful, nor funny, with an irritating voice. Apart from that...

Back to the old European competitions, knockout from round one, have to win the league to get in European Cup.

VAR for goalline checks only

Straight red for diving

All FA Cup semis at neutral grounds. Wembley for final only.

Clear, unambiguous, enforced penalties for financial misdemeanours

How innovative were you in cleaning it up?
November 6, 2025 at 4:50 PM
I was so drunk at that game I thought Keeley's sending off was harsh and protested accordingly......
November 6, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Yes, nothing says 'rates him' more than keeping him on the bench while there's a hole in centre midfield.....
November 5, 2025 at 8:14 AM
Both Garner & Gana would be better with a strong, solid centre-mid colleague. Is that Rohl? We'll need him on the pitch consistently to find out!
November 5, 2025 at 7:59 AM
My third game. My Dad had to convince me that it wasn't normally that good!
November 4, 2025 at 8:04 PM
He's bought players at great (for us) expense & isn't playing them. There's a huge hole in centre mid, and he isn't playing the solution he bought. The centre back who would move us ten yards up the pitch is uncomfortable at left back. Not sure he's helping the players' confidence at the moment.
November 4, 2025 at 9:12 AM
If he's as 'impressive' as described in training, he should be straight on from the start. He'll only get used to the English game by being on the pitch. Huge error from Moyes. And McNeil instead of Dibling? Really?
November 4, 2025 at 9:07 AM
I'm pretty sure Moyes has the final say on transfers. I think he's picking players based on what he wants them to be rather than their actual strengths. The likes of Barry, Dibling & Rohl will only improve by being trusted enough to start a run of games. If they're not trusted, why were they bought?
November 4, 2025 at 9:00 AM
What a wonderful, unforgettable night that was...
November 4, 2025 at 8:19 AM
It looks to me like he trusts neither Barry nor Beto to give them a proper run. If so, why not let Ndaiye have a free role in the centre and bring in Dibling out wide? And Alcaraz in there to move the ball forwards more quickly?
November 3, 2025 at 10:47 PM
Playing him and hooking him early isn't helping anyone. If he bought him, he should show more conviction and give him a proper chance.
November 3, 2025 at 10:20 PM
I hope you're right. Mateta plays in a team with pace & purpose that creates chances. We're not helping Barry at all, are we? I'd give him a run in the team.
November 3, 2025 at 10:14 PM
That was a great moment on an awful night. Nothing was going to stop him netting that rebound!

Oh, but it has. Pulled away from where Dyche had us, nestled in the safety of midtable while we wait for PSR issues to lapse...

I remember this well. Wonderful stuff. Many a good on-pitch scrap back in the day!
