The BBC will go after any challenge to the status quo from any source.

They did it with Scottish Independence. They did it with Brexit. They did it with particular gusto to take down Jeremy Corbyn.

Free secondary education was a big deal.

The right to buy was a big deal.

Building the Channel Tunnel was a big deal.

Introducing a national minimum wage was a big deal.

The Good Friday Agreement was a big deal.

This is not a big deal.

It's buses.
This one is a big deal, in my view. Potentially marks an end to Thatcher-era deregulation of the buses across England. And it's the law as of last night: bylinetimes.com/2025/10/28/a...

My god. If he actually gets a lasting peace deal between Israel and Palestine I might have to say something good about him at some stage.

When this goes wrong, which it's sure to, it's going to be absolutely horrendous.

I've done a complete 180 on this, but she's obviously the right woman for the job.

Presidential elections. Absolutely always a hoot. No exceptions.
2024 might have had more people voting in elections than any previous year in human history, but 2025 will have this political geek's 2 favourite types of election.

- Papal conclave
- Irish Presidential

Turns out she's the least worst option. The other 2 are even worse.
This is absolutely insane stuff. Utterly delusional and not a credible person to be considered for the office of Uachtarán na hÉireann.

If she actually believes this what other mad notions does she have?
It’s honestly mental that someone who is running to be President doesn’t think that country should have an army at all - “we don't need an army we're an independent, neutral, sovereign country”

Paudie is a perfect example of everything that's wrong with the men of Ireland. And we all love him for it.

Somewhat ironic given AI is typically about as factually accurate as a primary school pupil.

Much like schoolchildren it shouldn't be trusted for much beyond drawing pictures when the quality of the art isn't terribly important.
The question in this case was just what day do the kids go back to school but we are dealing with large swathes of the population who don't understand what an AI generated search result/overview is and search engines presenting this fiction as if it is fact. 😬 2/3
