Just over two years since a father I interviewed for our fourth true crime book passed away, never having achieved justice for his murdered son. New on my site:

Watching Rob Reiner’s STAND BY ME, long regarded as one of the best adaptations of Stephen King’s work. King is a master and inspired many writers. A couple of times I leaned into King territory, in a minor way: (more)

He very well may not be lying, which is why I think this presents a good opportunity to instead let Americans know that billionaires "giving to charity" almost never means what they think it means and that the whole charity industrial complex is, on the whole, bad actually.

Authors love it when you get their books from libraries or request libraries carry them. Our 2021 true crime book is in the Chicago Public Library system. It’s a cool honor!

Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

My next novel, SEVEN ANGELS, focuses on a small group of people searching for a Ukrainian girl who is being pursued by a Russian human trafficker. I wrote it in 2019 and was surprised when the reality of strong people resisting predators caught up with it.

I know this isn't how it works, but they should go ahead and give Stellan Skargård the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for ANDOR anyway.
Been a year or less since I rewatched all of Andor, but, considering the kind of year it's been, it feels longer, so I'm queuing it up tonight
