How I'm walking out of 2025

I stood behind Keanu Reeves in line at the Mayfair Market late one night after work and he was lovely to the cashier but when he sort of smiled at me, I froze.
Please quote this from the time you didn't interact with someone famous.

I was visiting with family in New Bedford, Massachusetts, at the same time that Mother Theresa was there visiting her Missionaries of Charity. The bishop held a Mass for her at the church where I was baptized. I didn't go.
Catching a train from Bristol Temple Meads, but they shifted the service along the platform because a scene from THE OUTLAWS was being shot where it would usually come in. The scene featured Christopher Walken and Stephen Merchant, but my train came before they shot it so I didn't see either of 'em.

Self-published my YA crime novel. Joined with friends in creating a publishing imprint and have a slate of books for 2026. My second Bouchercon. Good number of short fiction and pop culture pieces published. In 2026, we'll publish my next novel and continue to boost other writers.
The New Year is almost here! Taking a look back, what are some things you're proud of accomplishing in 2025? What's something you hope to accomplish in 2026?

Keith had one helluva year!! Check out the links below. "Sleepover" is a particular favorite of mine.
2025 started out as a year of fewer short story submissions from me, but I ended up with 14 short stories published in addition to my 1984-set high school crime novel THAT OCTOBER.

Here are some links:

2025 was a great year for me, writing-wise. Grateful to the publishers, editors, fellow writers, and readers who helped make all of this happen. Wishing all of you an even better 2026. Let's get shit done. #yearsend

This is a wonderful thread and I'm honored to be included in it.
Some nice person urged me to post links to some of my stories published in 2025 and I probably will, but I think I'll post links to some friends' work first or instead of. Please add your own or others. See thread to follow, which I'll add to (and you should too.)

if you're a writer and you're trying to introduce several characters at once, go watch Aliens. not joking. every single word helps build those Marines into real characters.

It's almost Christmas and my husband and I are both sick so think I'll curl up and put on the 2015 version of AND THEN THERE WERE NONE because nothing is more festive than watching a motley group gather at a secluded, stormy island and get picked off one by one, amirite?

THE INSIDER remains one of the most relevant movies of our times. If you haven't watched it, you should.
personally I think Al Pacino as Lowell Bergman should get to yell at Bari Weiss until this whole thing gets sorted

Sometimes I just want to check VULTURE's movie and TV reviews without also finding out that something terrible has happened to an artist I love.

My Grinchiest opinion in the holiday season is that I don't want my usual SiriusXM channels to play Christmas music. I don't need Christmas tunes interspersed with my '90s grunge or 2010s dance music. Let me listen to Nirvana and Rihanna in peace!

The #1 movie when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 is going to go.
