You have got to be joking - this, I'm afraid, is typical of Liverpool, the entitlement. It really isn't that controversial - just watch Robertson's reaction to the goal, sheepishly walking away, tells you everything

"Farage told us the flag-raisers were just ordinary folk sticking it to the system. A few months worth of local journalism later, that now looks like a shaky claim."

A great read from @manchestermill.bsky.social about the kinds of people who put up flags around the UK.
The men who raised the flags
Nigel Farage says this summer’s movement was led by ‘ordinary people’ expressing their patriotism. That’s not what we found

Only people who have only ever known peace and safety; who have zero sense of the chasm that yawns beneath us, would pull stunts like this. Like the generals who plunged us into WW1 because they wanted baubles like their granddads.

Meet Tahoma the bobcat for National Cat Day! 🐾

He came to Northwest Trek in 2020 after being kept illegally as a pet. He’s now living his best wild life. Tahoma loves to nap in the ferns and snack on chicken. It took him a little while to learn to climb trees, but he’s a natural now! 🌲🐱

"Can one mourn both Jewish and Palestinian victims? I wonder what is happening that we think this is even a question? To mourn the dead on both sides is surely not incompatible with political commitment – but an intelligent commitment, not a stupid one."
"In Greece, one sees how difficult many people find it to get their heads round the difference between Jews and Israelis as if they are the same thing or as if you can assume a political position from an ethnicity or a nationality," says historian Mark Mazower.

In Prestwich Library other day, 5 days after the Crumpsall synagogue attack, & I saw some books about local people, 1 of whom was Chaim Ferster. In it was a picture of him receiving the MEB in 2016. My dad received his MEB at the same ceremony. I spoke to Chaim, who showed me his Auschwitz tattoos
