I’m sure it’s coincidence but the last three times I’ve put the TV on on a Sunday morning the first thing that comes up is the #BBCLauraK show with a load of reactionaries obsessing about migration.

“Perhaps in the end it was more about love than friendship? What other name is there for this urgent, violent marriage of minds, the appalling prospect of someone going to pieces, the impossibility of being indifferent, the joy you feel when at last they’re sleeping peacefully?”

The wonderful old-Twitter experience of a global group chat during a live event or breaking news is a thing you can't do on Threads bc of its trash algorithms and you can't do on X bc it's a Nazi propaganda weapon, but it's really happening on Bsky now and I hope more holdouts start to discover that
Fwiw, it’s nice to have a place to chat during a live event. That was one of the things that Twitter was great for. Before the dark times. Before the empire.

I wish more people knew that there’s virtually no way to prove media or text is AI-generated unless you created it yourself. “AI detectors” aren’t proof. Among other glaring issues, this makes it more difficult for journalists to report on media being AI-generated even when it seems obvious

It’s essentially an emergency that you see One Battle After Another in the cinema immediately. Sean Penn will win an Oscar & it has the best car chase in many years. And those aren’t in the top 3 best things about the film. Jesus shitting Christ.
